What we do
The UWC National Committee of Kenya is registered locally as a charitable education trust whose main goal is to look for brilliant youth that have the passion and aptitude to make positive change in our communities. Students in the age group of 16-19 years that are problem solvers, creative and have empathy and mutual respect to nature and humanity are the stars we look to offer a life time experience at one of the 18 UWC schools and colleges around the world.
Our mission:
- Promote UWC, its mission, vision and values to prospective students, parents and other stakeholders in Kenya;
- Promote awareness, recognition and understanding of education as a force to unite people, nations and cultures for a peaceful and a sustainable future;
- Encourage and support applications from students in Kenya to attend UWC schools, colleges, short courses and programmes. Select UWC scholars and prepare them for their UWC experience;
- Raise a generation of empowered youths who can make informed decisions with respect to all spheres of life, including proper career choice, talent development, moral, environmental and health issues;
- Promote core values of international and intercultural understanding, the celebration of difference, personal responsibility and integrity, mutual responsibility and respect and compassion and service;
- Provide support for current students selected by the committee and their parents in order to maximize their UWC experience;
- To nurture an enduring commitment to the UWC ideals in Kenya among alumni and current students.
